We congratulate Dr José Villar on his nomination as a National Corresponding Member of the Buenos Aires National Academy of Medicine. This is a big achievement for the recognition of all his work and dedication to maternal and fetal health. 

On November 2nd, 2023, Dr. Villar was invited to an official ceremony where he presented the INTERGROWTH-21st project to a room full of fellow clinicians, students, and researchers. 

Four members of the INTERGROWTH-21st team were able to attend the ceremony: Dr. Ricardo Nieto and Dr. Constanza Soto Conti from the research site Hospital Materno Infantil Ramón Sardá, Buenos Aires, and Dr. Helena Sobrero and Dr. Fabiola Castedo Camacho, from the research site Hospital Materno Infantil Pereira Rossell, Montevideo. 

We are also very pleased to announce that Dr. Villar received on the same day, from the Academic Unit of Neonatology at the Hospital Materno Infantil Pereira Rossell, Montevideo, the Dr. Daniel Borbonet Prize of Neonatology, for his dedication to the field of perinatology in Uruguay.

These recognitions are a great honor to Dr. Villar and the INTERGROWTH-21st family, for which we thank the medical community of Argentina and Uruguay.
