COVID Poses Severe Risks during Pregnancy, Especially in Unvaccinated People

Scientific American have written a report  highlighting the risks of COVID-19 during pregnancy, particularly for those unvaccinated. The article includes results from a number of studies, including INTERCOVID which provides evidence that vaccination protects pregnant women from severe COVID.

“Because pregnant women are generally young and fit and healthy, they don’t consider themselves to be at a high risk. But the truth of the matter is that when you are pregnant, you are at higher risk from COVID infection.”
